Disposable Sphincterotome

A disposable sphincterotomy is a special, single-use surgical instrument used for endoscopic surgery (mainly endoscopic retrograde pancreatocholangiopancreatography).

Its core function is to perform endoscopic sphincterotomy. This is a minimally invasive surgery performed in the duodenum cavity through an endoscope, the purpose of which is to cut the sphincter at the end of the bile duct or pancreatic duct (Oddi sphincter) to expand the opening, relieve obstruction, promote stone discharge or place a stent, etc.

Disposable: Designed to be discarded after a single surgery, minimizing the risk of cross-infection and ensuring reliability and consistency of performance (such as cutting sharpness, electrical conductivity) each time it is used.

Guidewire guidance: This is a standard and safety feature of modern sphincterotomes, providing stability and precise positioning.

Adjustable arch: The doctor can precisely control the arch height (tension) formed by the cutting wire to adapt to different anatomical structures and cutting depth requirements.

High-frequency electrical compatibility: The cutting wire is used as an electrode to conduct high-frequency current for tissue cutting and hemostasis.

Flexibility and pushability: The catheter needs to be flexible enough to pass through the curved endoscope working channel and have a certain pushing force to reach the target position smoothly.

Development marker: Some models have a marker ring that can be developed under X-ray near the blade to help position under X-ray fluoroscopy.
