Anesthesia Mask

Anesthesia mask is mainly used to provide patients with anestheticgas during general anesthesia.Its function is to transport anestheticgas to the respiratory tract,enabling the patient to reach an anestheticstate,while alsomonitoring the patient's breathing and oxygen saturation.

Anesthesia masks usually consist of the following parts:

Mask body: transparent or translucent material (such as silicone, rubber), which is convenient for observing the patient's oral and nasal secretions.

Sealing pad: a silicone pad with soft edges that fits the facial contour to prevent gas leakage.

Gas interface: a standard interface for connecting anesthesia machines or breathing circuits (usually 22mm/15mm).

Headband/fixing device (some models): used to fix the mask position.

Main uses

General anesthesia induction: maintain patient ventilation before endotracheal intubation.

Short-term surgical anesthesia: suitable for short and minor surgeries that do not require endotracheal intubation (such as ophthalmology and dentistry).

First aid and resuscitation: provide oxygen during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Pediatric anesthesia: a small mask designed specifically for children, suitable for patients of different ages.
